|
|
|
- All cars must be Boy made with Assistance only from parents. If parents wish to
engineer a car then please enter the adult's race. Pinewood is meant to be a FUN
competition between boys. Over assisting your son is only making it unfair for
those boys who do make the cars themselves.
- All cars must be made from the kit (#17006) supplied by the Pack or bought from
the Scout shop.
- No performed kits are allowed.
- Each car must have been made specifically for this year's race. No entry of any
previous year's cars will be allowed.
- Cub Scout cars are to be made primarily by Cub Scouts. Tigers and Wolves,
however, will require more parental assistance than the Bears or Webelos. Webelos
are to build their cars almost completely unassisted. Any Webelos car receiving
excessive adult attenntion will be handicapped.
- All cars that are to be raced at the Pinewood derby need to be turned in at the
official weigh-in on Wednesday, January 22nd. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE
ALLOWED; there will be no weighing in on the day of the race.
- The maximum weight allowed for a car is 5oz
as weighed with the official scale on
weigh-in night. No other weigh is permissible.
- If the weight of a car is over 5oz, it will either have weights removed from it to
bring it down to weight, or the underside of the car may need to be drilled. This
will be done by the parent or Cub Scout themselves, not by the weigh-in team.
- If the weight of car is under 5oz, the owner may add weights (in the form of
coins, weights, etc.) to bring it up to 5oz. No member of the weigh-in team will do
so.

judging.
- No boy/parent/sibling will be allowed to handle their car after the weigh-in until all
races have finished on race day and the awards have been handed out.
- Lubrication will be added to all wheels/axles. This will be done at the official
weigh-in. Lubrication prior to weigh-in is allowe, but must be graphite only (no oil
based lubricants). Remember graphite adds to the weight.
- All cars must have a number. This will be allocated at the weigh-in, please bring
your numbers with you to weigh-in. DO NOT put number on the car until weigh-in.
